Monday, 10th July, "Tools"
Parthenon is ofcorce my main interest of visiting Athens, but another important mission here is to get marble tools for Kate. I arrived on Saturday here. All tool shops are closed for weekends. I was waiting until this morning, but I also have to catch my flight on 12:50. I have to check in at the airport at 10:50. It takes about for one hour by bus to the airport(9:50). It takes 15 min. to the shop by taxi(9:35). Shop here usualy opens at 9:00, so, I have 35min. for shopping if everything goes well. I asked Basilis in Amaliada to phone this shop to open early as possible. I went there 8:15 before breakfast just in case he got our message. Yes, shop was opened and waiting for me! This is the nice young owner of the shop in the photoraph with me.(HK)
Fasinating collection of the marble tools!!! Better than the acheological museum! Impossible get them in Japan. I tried to squeese my wallet until last penny to get almost all of the tools. I went back to the hotel and had a happiest breakfast in my life. Suitecase weigh over 31kg at the airport...
Sunday, 9th July, "Partheon"
Started early to visit the Parthenon in Acropolis in Athens. Now still under the restoration. What's amazing about Parthenon is not only that size and perfection, but the location where it is built. The size of this kind of large ancient building is not only Todaiji temple in Kyoto, but barbeck in Lebanon is hundred times bigger and misterious.
But the Acropolis has certainly magical enchantment of the place, viewing all around Athens and Agen Sea beyond. Just breathtaking. (HK)
completely restored beautiful Ancient Agora.
After suvenior shopping in the centre of Athens, I suddenly realised my digital camera's memory is full now after taking 500 shots in Acropolis, so I turned back to the hotel once and downloaded all images to empty the card. After a bit of lunch break, I went to Marisool travel office which japanese master organised my hotel in Athens, paid the ill and he kindly exchanged the japanese yen to euro for tommorow's big tool shopping.
Now I must go to the Acheological museum! I looked around for two good hours. I was too late to buty the catalogue. Amazing sculpture collections!! I'm now big fun of greek sculptures more than Roman's. Then went to the restaurant to have some kebab, ana back to the hotel to watch final game of world cup.
Agamemnon's mask and Statue of kicrades island.
Emily is playing in the group piano concert in Iwate.
Sean playing,too.
Emily and her best friend Nana.
Saturday, 8th July, "Set On and Off to Athens"
The last day. I was waiting the maschines and people to set my sculpture since 9 O'clock, but nobody turned out until 11 O'clock. Anyway, this is greece. But even Apostolis and Basilis came nobody seems to me that nothing is really arranged for today! They told me the problem now they have is that the drill, to drill holes for the pins, is locked in the toolshed with the key inside! They send a man to city office to get a spare key, but today is holliday, everything works slow, if it works. But as you see, piece is now set in the squre happily!!
This sculpture will be set on the proper base, which will be made next month.
Saying good-bye to everybody, to the Symposium people and Axilleon. Back into hotel, and quickly had a shower and changed and put suitcase back of the Takis's car, picked up Maria and drove down to Athens at 2:30.
arrived in Athens at 6 O'clock in the evening. Got into the hotel and phones home. I can use my cell phone here. Relaxed and watch the world cup football match.

Tuesday, 4th July, "Symposium"
Some Greek sculptors arrived in Achillion. They are going to work out here for over a month. The word "Symposion" means "Drinking Party" in Greek originaly from here, which Carl Plantle used for the sculpture project he started in Austria in 1959. (HK)
Monday, 3rd July, "Stand"
More marbles arrived. I tried to stand my puece.(HK)
Sunday, 2nd July, "Parchi(Harbour) Festival"
Harvour Fest. Greek country music concert and fireworks and a lot of fish! I went there with Apostolis , Janicha and Papagenos, their friend. It sounded amazing, I mean, if someone who never familiar with japansese modern culture, listened to the japanese Enka, the folk popular song, for the first time, it must sound like this to me!! Somehow slow and out of beat, so it sounds like a sea sick almost to me. Getting drunk. Many people at the back of the concert place, dancing happily together just like Anthony Quinn. Papagenos took us to the fancy restaurant along the beach, called Loca. He always smoke giant size Havana cigar just look like a gang boss. He is very succesfull after he moved to Canada and started new bussines We are enjoying Cogniac. This restaurant has very nice grill menus. I went to bed at three.(HK)
Saturday, 1st July, "Dream"
At lunch I had Musaka and fried flat fish with Uzo. My body at last get used to the climate and olive oils here after three weeks. I was invited to the party in the evening at Mr.Liosis house for his name day party. One nice youg lower Mikis, took me to the night club, called Calua. Huge place and a lot of people!! He is almost look like a club owner and he knows everybody in town there. He took me around and introduced to me many nice guys and girls.
