Tuesday, 30th May, "Window"
The piece is set now at the Wiseman's new building. All marbled wall backdrop looks wonderfull for my black window piece. I can not expect better space nowhere than this!!!(HK)

Saturday, 27th May, "Japanese"
Iwate Town International Asociation started the Japanese class volunteer teacher class in conjunction with Iwate Prefecture International Asociation. We have 9 students to start. They will learn how to teach japanese to foreiners living in town.(HK)
Thursday, 25th May, "Tea Ceremony"
This is the drilling of 3.5m hole to supply the water as a fountain from both end of the stone. It has to be very, very precise, of cource.(HK)
Sunday, 21st May, "Tea Ceremony"
Mrs.Matsumori has organised for Martin and Phillis a tea ceremony at the old temple Housyakuji in Ikkatai in Iwate town.(HK)

Friends gathered for Ukishima Spring Garden Party. nice weather and barbecue.

Rough cut today and tried to stand it to see how it looks like.(HK)
Monday, 15th May, "Arrival"
Arrived one day later. Stone is over 10tons of weight.(HK)
Saturday, 13th May, "Stone Quarry"
Himegami quarry failed to cut my stone, so I contacted Yamada in Miyagi to find different grey stone. he said he got the one right now in his Fukushima quarry. I drove down to Fukushima for 4 hours and check that stone thendrove back again. It was not easy to find the right size. Of cource, bigger the better, but too big, too expensive. Stone should be in Ukishima on Sunday.(HK)
Kanryu Fujita, the photographer want to take a photograph of Kate's British Embassy piece. Kate has organised the permission to go in with him today.(HK)
Wednesday, 10th May, "Liz's Wedding"
I have to find a new stone for the fountain for the Toyosu IHI building in Tokyo now. I found one at Kanazawa's yard and booked it or this project last month, but I thought that it might be a good idea to make sure it has reasonable foundation. So, I am going to put 1 feet more stone into the foundation. But, stone is only 3m25cm, too short. I asked quarry to cut ut 3m 50cm long stone, fresh.(HK)
Tuesday, 9th May, "Wiseman"
This is the latest work by Wakamatsu. Wiseman is the well known company as producing softwares for hospitals. They bought my window piece for the lobby. I went to take a look inside and meeting with the site manager. The piece will be set at the end of this month. (HK)
Sunday, 7th May, "Unveiling"
Unveiling ceremony of the monument to the local poet Takuboku Ishikawa by 43rd graduates from Morioka Daiichi High School. Prof.Yuza gave a talk about him afterwards. It was very interesting to know more about this well known poet, his friendship with other famous school friends like Kyosuke Kindaichi in Tokyo. Then party at the korean restaurant around the corner of the school. Finished with the everybody singing school songs as any other school reunions.(HK)

We are invited to Saito's family gathering at Plato in Kuzumaki Farm Park cottage.(HK)

Day out to the beach at Pacific Ocean, 2hours drive from Ukishima.
Nobody else was here. We brought lunch basket and spent easy holiday afternoon.(HK)

Spen 3 hours around lunch time to mend the polish. Mori took a photograph.(HK)
Tuesday, 2nd May, "Setting Stone"
Finally setting stone on site, at Morioka Daiishi High School in Iwate.Cherry tree is fully blassamed and so nervous not to damage the tree.(HK)
Monday, 1st May, "Lettering"
Curving english translated poem of Takuboku by hand. All work completed and glued the stainless steel pins.(HK)
