Saturday 30th July, "PTA Trip"
Mid-summer Ukishima PTA bus tour to New seeland village and Fujiwara samurai land in the south of Iwate. Emily has really enjoyed playing archery and we have dressed the heavy samurai helmet.(HK)
Thursday 28th July, "Sendai"
Children have been in Sendai for five days to goto swimming class near my parents house. I drove down to Sendai alone to bring them back to Iwate, but stayed one night there and went to cinema to see japanese cartoon film with Naoya , Emily and Sean.(HK)
Itoman Swimming School. Sean is getting good advises from his teacher who he knows already over five years now.
Wednesday 27th July, "Recording"
Natsumi found six translators for my Emperor Speech piece for the Kokaido Art Show. Tonight we had a recording session on the stage in main hall there. Korean, cambodian, indonesian students read their own translations to my iPod microphone. And chinese teacher of Chikako has read the original chinese version which he found on the internet.(HK)
Kate is working with students in the architecture shool in Morioka almost everyday.
Tuesday 26th July, "Ermitage"
Exhibition opening at Iwate Museum of Moern Art. " Ladies from Ermitage" was called the exhibition and you will find all portlate paintings. (HK)
Monday 25th July, "Structure"
Kate and students are frying setting to check the composition of Maze piece in sports gym.HK)
Sunday 24th July, "Dance"
Sean and his friends arre dancing in the local dancing festival at the Ishigami no Oka Michi no Eki. (HK)
Wednesday 20th July, "Auction Meeting"
We are having a charity art auction athe end of the Art Show to raise more sponsorship. (HK)
Tuesday 19th July, "Donuts"
Emily and her friend's holliday today. They made nice donuts.(HK)
Sunday 17th July, "Summer day"
A hot summer day again. Swimming and fireworks(HK)
Saturday 16th July, "Swiming Pool"
Sean jumped into the pool to cool down. I had to go into Morioka to attend series of Seminar about the beautifull scenary whole afternoon at the prefecture office and went to pubs afterwards until the last train back to Ukishima. (HK)
Friday 15th July, "Meeting"
I went to see Mr. Tada at Act Device company, who is specialised to make stage lightings and sound effects to get advise on my piece for my Kokaido Art Show spound installation of japanese Emperor's surrender speech at the 2nd world war. I want to make sound moving all around the roomand jumping left and right, front and back. It looks like I have to get some computer audio system to realise this project, with seven power amplifiers and speakers. (HK)
Thursday 14th July, "Kokaido"
I go around Kokaido building with Momose, who is one of the participants of the Art Show, to get the idea for his space and piece. I also went to Architecture School where kate and mori is working, to discuss the structures of their pieces.(HK)
Wenesday 13th July, "Rainy Season"
Beautifll sunset. This usually means the end of the rainy season.(HK)
Monday 11th July, "Collaboration"
Kate is working with students in the school. They are making the flames for the Maze project.(HK)
Saturday 9th July, "Star Wars"
We at last went to see the "Star Wars 3"! Sean said he even could not sleep well last night because of the excitement of going to cinema to see the film. Amazing after only 30 years all this SF films so advanced extremly, which nobady could imagine.(HK)
Saturday 9th July, "Kokaido Art Show"
Art Show committee meeting tonight. I am every time so impressed how this project develope it self, such as live music sessions and art cafes, and artists are putting so much energy to do somethig new with this historical building. I can believe that this project will be great success!!(HK)
Thursday 7th July, "Pen"
This is a pen. But not an ordinay one. Specialy designed by me with the picture of Chusei Saito, the Iwate local painter who died while ago. This pen is the first product by Ishigami Museum Friend to sell at the museum.(HK)
Saturday 2nd July, "77"
All family members gathered and celebrated my father's 77th birthday at crab restaurant. In japanese, 77 is the great lucky number.(HK)
