「都市環境デザイン会議」東北ブロックの連絡会議出席に盛岡に出かける。「みちのくミステリー映画祭」が昨日から始まっている。大通りでは国土交通省の社会実験で委託事業「オープン・カフェスタ」（トランジットモール）を実施中で、我々はその実行構成団体となっていて、その報告を受けた。ちょうど目の前を映画祭のパレードが来る（写真）。今年はもちろん韓国のスターたち！近くの「ギャラリー・ラ・ヴィ」で宮城教育大学の後輩の「青野文昭展」を開催中、見に行く。(HK) |

| On 23rd octorber there was big earthquakes in Niigata area. terrible damages around there, and still no water, no gas and noelectoricity. Fortunately we have nothing happened in Iwate, but I really hope that the things get better as soon as possible in Niigata. (HK) |

Autumn colours are amazing now in north Japan. Hatfulls with Kate in front of Bullet train station in Iwate Numakunai on the top fo Ishigami no Oka Sculpture park. We had nice Soba noodle for lunch at Nishida restaurant in town and saw them off at the station.(HK) |

| Happyoukai at theUkishima Primay School this morning. 24 children have sung, played instruments and did the stage plays without break until lunchtime. Hatfulls arrived after lunch from Tokyo and we went to matsukawa Spa onsen. On the way home stopped at Takahashi restaurant to have superb japanese dinner! (HK) |

30 children from Numakunai Primay School came to visit Ukishima today.I had fun talking to them because their are so interested in whatever they see, from drawing to heavy tools. In the evening, I went to Art Salon at Ishigami Museum. Friend painter Honda gave nice fun talk with his wife and aterwards we had next sessin in Ukishima until 3 O'clock in the morning. (HK) |

Emily played goal keeper in iwate town hockey tournament in town sport park today. Sean was a substitute player and supporter. They played very well to get 3rd price!
In the afternoon Valentina Seidel, the german photographer cameto take a picture of Kate and me for the photograph exhibition coming up next year at Iwate prefecture museum. This is one fo the EU-Japan culture exchange projects.(HK) |

We are working on maquette for Ube sculpture competition hard at the moment. Only Kate got in last time, not until to final stage but macquettes stage. This time we determined to win the grand-prize!!!!(HK) |

Working on Kawaguchi School gate sculpture mostly by hand this time. Hammering the chizel without maschine noise is something I missed for a while. Emily and Sean are now climbing Okurisen mountain in front of us today as school activity.(HK) |

| Emily got new japanese passport at Iwate prefecture office in Morioka today. Under 12 years it costs 5,000yen but after her birthday in November this year it becomes up to 10,000 yen! Just in time. Also we had to adjust her spectacles for her .(HK) |

| Wednsday 6th Octorber, "Mr. Kikuchi" |
|
Kate and I have vsisited Mrs.Kikuchi's house inTamayama village. Her husband died last summer, and he was our stone quarry man. He found for us and supplied a lot of large block of grey granite from his quarry past years for our big projects. He actually died of sudden heart attack over night, as widow says that she still thinks her husband opens the door and come back home any time.

Kate's new CD/DVD player BOSE AMS1�｡ has dramaticaly changed our music life. This is actually cheapest model of Bose production, but sound fantastic!! Miles Davis, Coltrane, Maria Carras and Wagner! our goldfishes are found all dead this morning! Also I went to Morioka and applied Emily's passport successfully... (HK) |

| Japan is now autumn festival season. Numakunai had just one tonight . We are invited by Mrs. Saito to her house for supper tonight and afterwards we went to the town to see the parade with her grand sons, Keisuke and kent. Within the festival there are "Yomise(night shops)" mostly for children and they are enjoying spending there pocke moneys. Also there we met our friend, Cassy and her husband, a bit drunk.(HK) |

Easy Internet shopping. I just bought a new Konica Minolt's Dimage A1, because of I heard that they are going to stop producing this brilliant digital camera soon... Anyway, in stead, I took my old Sanyo DSC-MZ2into service. I also went to apply for Emily's new japanese passport at Iwate Prefecture office in Morioka, but I forgot to get Emily to sign it! I have to come back again.(HK) |
