Day off. Grand day out. We drove to Kesennuma by the pacific ocean. Kazue Sato, who is also helping us this time has the show at Rias Ark Museum in Kesennuma. beautifull iron works traps all sorts of findings along the beach and huge baskets.(HK) |

The ceremony of the 30th anniversary was held at the Ishigami no Oka Museum, and we had lecture by Fram Kitagawa, Director of Art Front Gallery in Daikanyama and General director of Art Triennale in Tsumari, Niigata. He gave urs a talk about this gigantic art project in Japan, and very impressive. He saying," comtemporary art in the society like this project might just be a camphor injection, but also Vitamines to keep conditions for the people." Agree! (HK) |

| 30th International Iwae Sculpture Symposiumstarted this morning with the Orientation at the town office. We also went to look around the workshop, stone quarry and woodyard. I feel this time we have ideal members for collaboration. John Audun Hauge from Norway, Todor Todorov from Burgaria, Kenichi Mashita from Nagoya and me. I will try my best and really hope to create good piece of sculpture.(HK) |

| John Audun Hauge has arrived in town from Norway . I invited him specialy for the wood work this time. We met after 18 years since the Aberdeen International Youth Symposium at the Scottish Sculpture Workshop in Lumsden. We became rather middle aged! Strange!! I remember he was funtasic with handling any wood. this time in Symposium we have chestnut wood to combone with granite. Collaboration again. (HK) |

We arrived in Tokyo and unloaded at 4 in the morning. Setting Sculptures with help of 6 other proffesionals after lunch and took us over 2 hours! Restaurant is alreay finished, so no scratches! Soon we (Akechi and me) drove bak to Iwate before midnight. It was a long day! (HK) |
