Monday 30th June, "Shipped Off to Roppongi"
Shipped off the Roppong hills sculptures!(HK)
Sunday 29th June, "Hockey"
Victoria James of The Japan Times came from tokyo to interview Frank Stella and Kate at the Iwate Prefecture Museum. (HK)
Saturday 28th June, "Cinnamon and Bobby"
Cinnamon was furious at the beginning of together with Bobby. She was sitting right in front of Bobby drooling madly. She like mice and moules, by the way.(HK)
Friday 27th June, "Akechi's Back "
Akechi joined us to finish up my project in time.(HK)
Thursday 26th June, "Start Again! "
Yesterdays split went wrong!(It happens sometimes,not always...) So I started new stone. This is nice long stone, you hardly find. What a waste! (HK)
Tuesday 24th June, "Working Harder "
Kate is helping me to polish. I am splitting a rather big stone for the display case in the restaurant.
They are making birthday card for their twin cousins in Scotland.
Sunday 22nd June, "New Swimming Pool "
Good day for swimm and Sean cooked curry rise all by himself! (HK)
Friday 20th June, "New Swimming Pool Bought"
I was at last concentrate on to Roppongi Hills project. Kate and children went to Morioka, to the traffic park and Toysrus, Sean's favourite shop. They bought big swimming pool.(HK)
Wedensday 18th June, "Ikawa Sculpture Competition"
All other maquettes were already there. And we thought we might have a very good chance to win after good look around! This competions already the 4th one this year and it should go on tn 10th. They are setting the previous winning sculpture in the large cherry tree park nearby. We head back to Ukishima before children coming back from dchool.(HK)
Tuesday 17th June, "Working Hard"
Sculpture competition in Akita. We made little maquettes. We were working until 6 O'clock in the morning. Should start here by car lastest at 8, so we can have a bit of sleep until then.(HK)
Saturday 14th June, "Kate's Exhibition started"
Kate' show opened at Morioka Crystal Gallery. Mr. Nagai was too tired to stay up after tennis lessond today. The rest of us were driking around in Morioka to have terrible hang over next day again.(HK)
Wedensday 11th June, "Kitten is back "
Emily came up to me soon after she's back from school and said, Daddy please come and see the kittens! They are sick! Well, She was looking after with her school friend by the road inside the canal to the school. I went there and saw one was already dead. We decided to take the another one to see the Vet. She said, "Do not worry, he has got a cold, kittens always do." After treatment with antibiotics, BOBBY KATAGIRI became absolutely fine. Emily promised me to look after him. We will see.(HK)
Tonight we had a grand opening party of Iwate International Association. Party was held at the workshop building in Ishigami no Oka and we had over150 people! I7s a vice chairman of the committee and kate is on the board of directors. We have over 70 philipiners and over 30 Chinese people living in town (and 1 Brittish, of course!). Young Philipiner boys and girls who ' staying in town for learning farming here played nice songs and music. (HK)
monday 9th June, "Kittens "
Emily brought the two kittens back into the house, which she found on the way home from school. Really cute! But I had to say "No" again, for Cinnamon. Told her to take them back to where she found.(HK)
Saturday 7th June, "Family Portrate"
Mori family came to visit. We went to the artist talk at Ishigami no Oka Museum, and to see the exhibition of Yoshio Murakami, the printer. Tannai and us went to see the small stone sculptures collected for thenext show at the museum. Mori 's going to take photographs for thr catalogue. When we came back to Ukishima, here also came Fam.Matsumori, the Pinewood. We had a family caffee blake.
Sunday 1st June, "Sparrow's baby"
I found a sparrow's nest inside of the studio wall. Before getting rotten, I had to remove them out of the wall. There were 6 babies. Emily thought they are so cute, but Itold her that no way we can keep them in a house.(HK)
