Snow melted at last in Ukishima. I drove Kate and children to the Iwate Numakunai Shinkansen station in town. Kate is going to Tokyo to meet friendsss and children are going to do swimming classes staying with my parents in Sendai.(HK) |

| I had lunch with Mr.and Mrs.Kamikado near theie office in Mijiro. They are working all the time for chinese projects. Last time I helped them with the design for the 4m high x10m long fountain in Shinzen. This time he asked me to do a 10m wood monument for the new factory building in Shanghai. Everything is so big and quick in China these days. After that I went to see Ms.Mairyo's textile show in Yotsuya and took train back home.(HK) |

When I arrived in Iwate Numakunai Shinkansen Station I noticed that the new advertising poster of Dr.Sakai's hospital on one of the pillers . As Mori suggested, big photoraph looks good, printed from 4x5 tranparency, not 6x7.(HK) |

While I was away, kate and children have packed up 'Ohinasama' and done very good spring cleanning throughly all over the house.(HK) |

Completed. Akechi came to help me to set my sculpture. Okuno-san also cameto see us who is our agent, Art Front Gallery in Daikanyama. Akechi and I were invited to taste Sake at one of the japanese restaurant in Kamakura afterwards in the evening. (HK) |

Finally my sculpture is completed and put on the truck to Kamakura. I'll catch up with my sculpture by Shinkansen tomorrow. Children were going to stay with my parents in Sendai, in order to go to spring holliday swimming classes. But, because of Sean has got high fever from Influenzasince yesterday, the plan was postphoned. (HK) |

This is the season to flying back home. I saw almost everyday a few groups of swans in the sky, Even with ear protector against noise. It seems like they are calling each other all the time they are flying. You never miss that sound! It sounds not laud but somehow so serious and desperate. Today I saw over 50 swans flying back to the north together. (HK) |

| Thursday 20th.March , "Iwate Best Artist Award in 2002" |

I was awarded "Iwate Best Artist Award in 2002", which Kate got in 1999. I was asked to make a speech after the celemony, After I was talking about great experience in Lebanon, I suggested prefecture to support more young artists to send them overseas for real experiences. Also today USA military started atacking Iraq. Heartbreaking.(HK) |

Exhibition opening at YTorozu Museum in Towa town. Koji Tashiro's amazing paper sculptures 'ORIGAMI'. We were there rather late, because we had to wait for the children to finish school, but we found in the office Tashiro and Museum staffs are having nice home made Sake drinking session. Momose was there as well, but he was already all red from nice Sake! On the way home we stopped at Mori's house and picked up the photographs he took the other day as well as more beer for me.(HK) |
