18 swans flying back north for the spring made enough noise for us to hear them above the buzz of grinders cutting stone for us to admire them flying straight over the studio. By the time Kata got the camera they were only just visible in the distance - but take my word for it they were a beautiful sight! (KT) |

The Iwate Prefecture office came with a representative of the construction company to inspect work in progress on Kata's 8 meter high granite sculpture for the entrance of the new park. (KT) |

from Art Front Gallery, Kata and I went to Morioka to see the site of the new Asahi Insurance Company building who have commissioned Kata and I for a sculpture each, both to be set next month. (KT) |

35cm wet heavy snow fell last night. Sean was very impressed by Daddy scraping snow with his big JCB in front of the House. (HK)
Especially as he had just spent some time clearing a small section of the deck and Kata cleared the whole area in front of the house in a few minutes! (KT)

| Ukishima Primary School Fire Drill Day. - the fire department carry out a full scale drill once a year at a different school, this year it was our turn. Sean refused to go so I had to stay at home with him and miss all the excitement - but we could see the water jets from home. |
