Kata's father made a trip up to Ukishima specially to watch the video of "the Mikado", a present to him from my mother, Ann-chan. He rehearsed his part in the chorus enjoying a nostalgia trip for his student days when he was to be in the chorus for a professional production over 50 years ago, but the producer had forgotten to get copyright so the production was closed down by the police! | Sat.15th Sept. "Back in Ukishima one day late via Singapore" |
 |
After the terrible terrorist attacks in America I was very relieved that Kata managed to get home from Scotland safely yesterday after only 24 hours delay. I am very impressed with the airlines which although they are in such chaos and had to reroute him from Amsterdam to Singapore to Narita they got him here only one day late, and his luggage only 2 days late.

After my talk about sculpture they asked me questions about sculpture and Japan, including Pokemon and Digimon. We had a lot of fun. (HK)
