28th June, "With Cinnamon again"

I BORROWED cinnamon for a weekfrom Mr. Sasawatari, who is looking after her while Ukishima's empty. (HK)

25th and 26th June, "Research visit to Shimane town"

The view from our hotel room Katsura island Kate was very impressed
Stones! Possible material? Sai no Kawara picking up shells with the landscape architect Kamikado
It was just breathtakingly beautiful here. I felt almost at home, just like Karakuwa, my home town. Same landscape, same sea. Very kind and friendly people, too. We should find a summer house here. (HK)

Flew here straight after clearing my exhibition in Tokyo, then have to fly back to Tokyo tomorrow, and on to Edinburgh the next day. Although we came here for research meetings it has been a wonderful break from the hectic pace this summer. (KT)

14th June, "Back alone in Ukishima

Around the house grasses are growing wild within less than a month. I feel a bit lonely without children's noise! (HK)

13th June, "TAC- Kate Exhibition at the "Genkan Gallery", Tokyo American Club"

Kate's show started at the Genkan Gallery, Tokyo American Club, Azabudai, Tokyo on 11th June, but i made it back to Japan today! .(HK)

9th.June

Peter at the Scottish Sculpture Workshop(far left), and George Beasley had an art event on Friday, which was broadcast on the internet specially to the Sculpture Conference in Colorado(?) (second left) , casting an iron bridge. The way back to Edinburgh through Glenshi was fantastic today. (HK)

9th June, "Sean 's school uniform"

Haircut and Tie, just looks like a British kid! (HK)

7th. June "Tea Garden in Grantcester"

Famous "The Orchard", tea garden in Grancester. Dr. Hara, who became a very good friend in Cambridge this time took me to see this simply beautiful place!(HK)

6th June "Sharon and Lucy"

Sharon (who used to work at the British Embassy in Tokyo) and baby daughter Lucy visited my exhibition. (HK)

1st. June, "Cambridge show opened"

My exhibition opened at Jock Colville Hall, Churchill College in Cambridge. Sir John and Lady Boyd (previously the Ambassador to Japan, and now Master of Churchill College, Cambridge University) hosted a wonderful reception followed by dinner in College for the sponsors and other guests. (HK)
